Spalletti to coach Russian and European Superchampions Zenit St.Petersburg


According to Russian media rumors he should be the Baltic team's new coach

ANSA - MOSCOW - The former AS Roma coach Luciano Spalletti (Pictured Ansa) is in St.Petersburg where he is soon expected to sign the contract to coach Zenit next season.

Spalletti should take charge of St. Petersburg team soon after the winter break next January as the next Russian League season starts in March. The Tuscan coach has resigned last month from his AS Roma tenure in favour of Ranieri.

The former Udinese, Empoli and Roma ! coach his widely credited for having introduced the 'short passing' game which has been mastered to glory by World champions Italy and recently by Spain at the last year Euro 2008.
