Shaq and Kobe combined for the first time since the 2004 playoffs, and destroyed the East together.
Kobe led the Western All-Stars with 27 points, and Shaq added 17 points in 11 crazy minutes. They shared the All-Star Game MVP award as co-MVP's. They are now both 3 time MVP's. "The Big Legendaries" is what O'Neal called the two when being presented with the award.
The West won 146-119.
"It felt like old times,'' O'Neal said. "I miss those times. He was really looking for me, especially when we went to a pick-and-roll and they had Rashard Lewis on me.''
I think i! t would be awesome if Shaq came back to the Lakers. It would be just like the old days. The TNT analysts were saying if they stayed together all these years, they would have rings all over their fingers- and toes.
The Eastern All-Stars' coach, Mike Brown, said they were a very deadly combination. Anyone could have noticed that.
But my personal favorite play involved Shaq, Dwight Howard, and Chris Paul. Shaq was being trash-talked by Dwight Howard at the three point line, so he threw it between his legs to Chris Paul and as Shaq rolled to the basket, Paul found him and he threw it down. See it for yourself:
